A Tooth Fairy Marble is hand formed around your child’s tooth, creating a one-of-a-kind work of art in glass. Each marble, like each tooth will vary slightly in size. Sizes will range from approximately 7/8” to 1 1/8” in diameter.
Basic marbles are made using clear glass. Little bits of iridescent glass can be added to each marble. This produces veils of color that are evocative of fairy dust, lending a hint of magic to these tiny treasures.
Decorated Marbles are available in a variety of colors. Prices vary depending upon the marble style selected.
The convex shape of the marble works like a magnifying glass so the size of the tooth will appear much larger once it is inside of the marble. There will also be small bubbles within each marble. This is an inescapable part of the creation process. The tooth, when exposed to extreme heat, will give off gas and moisture that then becomes trapped within the glass. These “fairy gasses” form delicate little bubbles that float around the tooth. We won’t speak of them any further for fear of being impolite.
The high temperature needed to produce a marble will cause the tooth to change to a silvery gray color. Smaller teeth may break apart in the heat but all of the tooth’s pieces will remain encased within the glass. The effect in this circumstance is like a galaxy of fairy dust within the marble. Since the tooth will dry out and fall apart within a few years anyway just think of this occurrence as speeding up an inevitable process.
